Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Asana Class for Beginning Students
This is a one on one/small group class (max 4 students) where we explore and learn the primary Ashtanga sequence. This style of yoga is a very physical practice at first glance. It requires a moderate level of physical fitness and prior yoga experience, and a high level of self-discipline and dedication to the practice. This is for serious (but not necessarily highly accomplished) yogis only! In this class, we spend an hour learning the sequence and optimising the postures to suit the different abilities and body types of the students to maximise safety and minimise the potential for injury. The student is expected to practice at home at least 4 days a week not including the class. This is essential for progress. The student is able to keep in touch with the teacher for guidance. Committing the sequence to memory is necessary for successful practice and can only be done through self-discipline and dedication.
As we progress, we gradually learn the entire sequence, gradually building on the foundations of our practice.
The aim of this class is to:
prepare the student for a home/independent practice
develop self-awareness and self-discipline
teach the student how to practice safely in a way that is compatible with their strengths and limitations
The physical practice brings many benefits which the student may become aware of in time. Consistent practice and commitment bring rewards. 6am-7.15am Friday. $100 for a block of 4 classes or $30 per class.
Duration: 75 mins including relaxation.
Founded by Gwynn Williams, Zen Thai Shiatsu Yoga is an active flowing movement based practice incorporating elements of yoga, traditional Chinese medicine and bodywork to enhance health and well being. Suitable for all levels.
This enjoyable yoga style works with the energy meridians and the 5 elements. This class is being offered as a one on one at the moment. By appointment.
Restorative Yoga classes are very relaxing and are a good complement to more active practices, or a stand alone practice in their own right. This style makes use of props such as bolsters, cushions, blocks, belts and eye pillows coupled with relaxing and supported postures that are held for several minutes. The lights may be dimmed and if it is chilly, you may be covered with a blanket since you will not be warming up the body the way you would be in a regular class.
The sessions include sound immersion and vivid visualisations to assist the body and mind’s natural return to a calm and relaxed state. Restorative yoga will leave you feeling calm and refreshed, and has long term health benefits for those suffering from problems such as high blood pressure, anxiety, insomnia and immune disorders to name just a few.

Beginner’s/Yoga for Spinal Health
This is a gentle class with emphasis on being aware of correct movement patterns for optimal spinal health. Mosty of us suffer from back discomfort from time to time. Many of these issues arise from problematic movement patterns in the activities of daily life leading to tight, weak and unstable muscle groups and immobility of the spine. Learn how to move in a way that is optimal for our individual situation, correct movement “mistakes” and strengthen deep forgotten muscles that support the spine. Many students feel better after the first class. Wednesday 6pm. $10
Tai Chi, as it is practiced in the west today, can perhaps best be thought of as a moving form of yoga and meditation combined.
Tony Wootton has been learning and practising Tai Chi under the guidance of teacher and master Ahtee Chia, whose lineage is traced back to Chen Wang (see lineage below), for more than 20 years. He has practised daily during this time, and taught in Ahtee's teaching workshops at the Woodford Folk Festival for many years.
He shares his passion with anyone willing to learn. This precise and gentle style is a moving meditation, bringing strength, flexibility, focus and peace. Excellent for arthritis, back problems, nervous conditions and more, Tai Chi is available to everyone.

Sound Immersion, is the conscious use of the energy of sound to promote wellness in the human system, and assist in meditation and deep relaxation. Sound Immersion is founded on the premise that all matter is vibrating at specific frequencies. Science shows that sound, or vibration, has a strong impact upon substance. Many ancient civilizations and modern indigenous cultures have used sound to heal and access higher levels of consciousness for thousands of years.
Recordings of natural instruments such as crystal bowls, Gong and Didgeriddo are used at our studio to promote deep relaxation and meditation. The studio is set up with a quality sound system that faithfully reproduces the recorded sound.
The vibration and deep resonance of carefully selected sounds create a deep relaxation at the end of our practice, relaxing the mind and body and stimulating the glandular system to a higher level of functioning.
One on one classes and Yoga Therapy
One on One classes are available for fine tuning yoga postures or creating individualised take home practices that may include asana, pranayama, mantra and/or meditation/visualisation/relaxation.
